ROUGH TRANSCRIPT
Welcome back creatives. Ruthanne Reid here, author and stroke survivor to help you get out of block and into a daily habit of creation. So obviously I have recovered enough to at least sit outside. The point is that today is Sunday, technically the beginning of the week. So today I have a very special task for you creative. Your homework assignment is to creatively plan out your week. To figure out in your schedule where you are going to be able to set aside 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there, even 5 minutes if that's all you can grab. So you are going to take the time to prepare those around you that that amount of time is yours. You are using it. You are not going to be interrupted. This is your time. You have to set those boundaries. Nobody's going to do it for you. This is also your chance to get together your tools. Whatever it is that you need to create with. Do not spend the 30 minutes that you have free next Wednesday looking for a paintbrush. But this also means things like your playlists. Things like figuring out well, I can't I don't know, paint unless I have a cup of tea. All right, make sure you have tea available. In other words creatives, today is your day to prepare. So when you have time to create, you can actually just create. You're not going to be stuck going, "Oh crud, I need my list of I don't know, inspirational prompts." Find that today. Creative, the biggest thing you can do for yourself artistically is to start making something every single day. Let it be terrible. It can be the wrong thing. You don't have to keep it. But as long as you are making something, you are teaching your body and brain that creation is your normal, that it needs to streamline it, that it needs to make it into a habit, and that it's something you're going to be doing for the rest of your life. This is how you get out of block. This is how you build that creative habit. Make one new thing. Let it be tiny and terrible, but let it exist. You've got this creative. Prepare for this week. It is yours. You can do this. Sit down with me and together, let's make something new.
